Tariff Update

Greetings Cape Shore Retailers and Sales Partners,

Let no one say we do not live in interesting times. What follows is a brief update regarding Cape Shore’s response to the economic uncertainty in U.S. international trading relationships. We had hoped that this action would not be necessary until the fall, and perhaps never if the issues were resolved.

However, given the speed and scope of the tariffs, we regret we must enact the following policy sooner rather than later.  Cape Shore simply cannot afford to absorb the full cost of the tariffs AND continue to supply you with great products and service (which we have done since 1946!). The new policy is as follows:

 

  • Effective Monday, April 14, all orders in-house at Cape Shore will include a 7% tariff fee (regardless of the date the order was placed).
  • Effective Monday, April 14, all NEW orders placed on and after this date will include a 15% tariff fee.

 

Should the tariffs change at any time, we reserve the right to adjust surcharges accordingly. This applies to orders already written and/or quoted as well as future orders.

As always, our team at Cape Shore is committed to our retail partners and will do everything within our control to lessen the effects of these policies and navigate this volatile marketplace with you. Despite these challenges, we will continue to purchase inventory to supply you in the coming months. Flexibility, adaptability, and patience will be key attributes during this period.

Lead Times

Cape Shore’s current lead times are:

  • 14 business days for plain merchandise (no name drop)
  • 14-21 business days for name drop (ornaments, drinkware, magnets, etc.)
